All families participating in an SDCYB production must fulfill a Parent Production Requirement for that particular production. This requirement involves performing a certain number of production shifts (usually 1-2) during in-theater rehearsals and performances. There are a wide variety of production roles, including but not limited to: ushering, helping out backstage, selling concessions, and assisting the box office. Each shifts is typically 3 – 5 hours long. This requirement is essential to keepingour production fees and ticket prices low, and is a vital aspect of our performances.

Families who do not fulfill their Parent Production Requirement will be fined up to $50 per missed shift.

For the safety of our dancers, certain backstage production roles may require a background check.

All questions regarding the Parent Production Requirements should be directed to the SDCYB Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@sdcyb.org
